Howling winds…..
I am pleased to announce that the rest of our luggage arrived yeseterday!!
It is so nice to finally have our own bedding and a few more pieces of clothing to wear. We also finally got an estimated date of arrival for our barge. October 6th. Just over a month away. We’re still waiting to hear about our house hold effects. It’s planned to also be put on our barge, so looks like everything is going to show up together. We are still hoping that our food mail shows up tomorrow or Thursday. It’s hard to come up with meal plans when you don’t have any meat in the house! It has definitely been interesting.
The weather here today has been insane! There have been wind warnings with gusts reaching 90km/hr. I have to say that i’m sure they have reached that already. It’s hard to stand up when you go outside. The dog doesn’t really have a desire to hang out outside very long. You can actually feel the entire house shake from the winds. I took a few pictures but they just don’t do it justice. There are no trees here to give reference to the strength of the winds. I have to admit that I don’t really mind relaxing in the house under a blanket with a hot cup of coffee….It has been a very nice day! I almost could get used to this! I have also met my new favorite toy…the Dyson! That vacuum is amazing! It works really well on the dog hair….I know what we’re buying when we move back down south!
Below is the report from Environment Canada…..

Thanks for the update. Do you think these high winds are a regular occurrence? Is there a lot of gravel / sand flying around with the wind?
I hope your food order comes in tomorrow. Can they land in the wind?
Bonne nuit,
Pat

There was some sand flying around today and got my face sandblasted a bit… Not too exciting… The plane landed today and I thought that the pilot was crazy to try and land but he managed to land and takeoff. Hopefully we get some food in in a couple of days.

Je suis très heureux que vos baggages soient arrivés. J’ai remarqué que c’est seulement votre chien qui est allé dans la Baie d’Hudson. Y a-t-il une raison particulière?
