A Fun Night out!
This past week was Co-Op Week here in town. To end the week the managers put on a “Games night” in the Hamlet Gym. Before the games, the locals did a Feast. It started at 5 but we didn’t end up heading there until 6. Needless to say we were late and missed the entire thing. That was disappointing, but there will be more to come. So no pictures of that this time…..sorry.
We did make it for the games. We were very surprised at the amount of people that showed up. There were over 100 people and lots of children. The first game of the evening was Musical chairs for the children. After that they had a bowling contest for the Elders. It was neat to see. They had different games for all ages. Even the Elders had their own games. It was a fun-filled evening with fun games, prizes and even a little food.
There were a few games we’ve seen before, some we haven’t. Musical chairs, paper airplane contest and bowling were some that we’ve seen, the rest we haven’t. I’ll explain the others.
I don’t know the names of the games so I will just explain what we saw. The adults formed a circle and in the middle was the “activity” they had to do. The first one had a ball of yarn in the middle. A number was picked and they started throwing the dice, when that number was rolled the person who rolled it would go to the center of the circle and roll the yarn into another ball. They would keep trading off as the correct number was rolled. The goal is to be the person to roll the last of the yarn. The next activity was sawing a slice of wood off of a 8×8 piece of lumber. The person to saw it off was the winner.
It seemed everyone had a great time. What I was surprised by, was all the kids were running around playing and not once did I see a child cry or see anyone fight.
Below are some of the pictures we captured. Sorry for the quality, the lighting was poor.

Interesting article. Did you guys participate in any of the games?

We didn’t officially participate. At one point they played Simon Says….and they were told to find people with certain “Features” I got picked on cause I had a hair elastic. That was the extent of our participation this time.
