Falling….falling…falling

Snow that is!! Finally….we have something to speak of.

Until now, we’ve seen snow falling quite a bit, but it would never stay around for very long. We woke up this morning to a decent amount already on the ground and it was still falling. It snowed for most of the day today. What was really nice is that it warmed up to 0ºc today.  I’ve been patiently waiting for the snow to come. I don’t know why, but up here it just seems more enjoyable that it was down south. I used to dread it, now I can’t wait for it! We’ll see if i’m singing the same song in June! Here are a few pictures I took.

Some other good news is that our Barge is on its way! I’ve been diligently watching NorthernBound Nurse’s Blog. She is in Arviat and that was the first stop for the Barge. It has already made it’s visit to Arviat. Now it will go to Whale Cove, then off to Rankin Inlet and finally on our way to us! We were told it will take 4-5 days in Rankin. We’re hoping it’s here by early next week. Our fingers are crossed that nothing freezes on its way here. We will soon find out.

Hey there I am glad you read my blog. I kinda wonder who reads it besides my obvious family. I really like reading your blog as well and I hear you on the unsettled thing. I am hoping when my stuff arrives and the apartment is more “mine” it will help me. And FYI my olive oil kinda got frozen but other than that my stuff on the barge came fine.

Hello, I love reading other peoples perspectives of the north. We just moved from the north in July. We lived in Rankin Inlet my first northern home and then Kugluktuk. I loved the north, the experiences and even the blizzard days!!! Hope you enjoy it also – good luck with your adventures.
