10,000……

November 26th, 2009 Carly Leave a comment Go to comments

Views that is!! Etienne and I have been checking out the Stats on our blog. We’ve been watching the number of views on our blog increase quickly. We have said that if/when it ever reached 10,000 views we’d write a post about it. So, this morning it has hit 10,000 views.

As of this morning these are some other stats from our blog:

Most viewed post: Pictures from Around Town – Viewed 171 times

Busiest Day: November 16, 2009, with 297 views

Comments: 254 – Keep them coming…..we’ll have a prize for the 300th comment.

For those of you that are curious, we sent an Ulu Pin (as shown in our “First Northern Purchase” post)  to the person that left the 200th comment. We’re still thinking about the prize for our 300th comment….any suggestions?? lol.

When we first started this blog I never thought it would get as much traffic as it does. We initially started it to let our friends and family have a little peek into our northern experiences. Now and I look at our stats and we are getting visitors from all over the world! It’s crazy!

I’m curious about the rest of you. Do you keep track of your stats? Do you look at them? If you wish to share, i’d love to hear about your stats.

I keep track too! I get about 200 visitors a day. Crazy because our lives sure aren’t that exciting. And the hits are from all over the world. We get a number of people contacting us for info on Kugluktuk and now Faro.

I was actually quite obsessive about stats, checking them several times a day up until about a year ago. Now I look at them ocassionally. I always had little goals that I wanted to see, consistent 200 hits a day – that sort of thing. Now it doesn’t bother me much, to see the stats drop or rise. In some ways they’re less meaningful to me in these days of feed readers. I check how many people follow me on Google Reader from time to time.

One thing I do tend to look at on the Stats page is if there are new referring links, so I can see who’s linking to me.

Congrats! I really appreciate you posting and sharing your experience up there. I have always been fascinated by the North, and I cannot imagine the cold weather you are experiencing. I live in New Hampshire love the winter, but it is a totally different deal up there! As far as the “prize” for your 300th, something of a cultural nature would seem appropriate, as that would be unique to whomever receives it. Thanks again to you and Etienne, and stay safe both of you!
