Memorial Dance
For the past three years, a memorial dance has been held in Chesterfield to raise money for Cancer. The family puts on the fundraiser in memory of a gentleman that died of Cancer three years ago. It starts on Thursday evening and goes for the weekend. It is a pretty big event. People fly in from around the area.
There is a liquor ban on. There were no orders allowed the week prior and absolutely no consumption of alcohol was allowed thorughout the weekend. The hamlet council put in a resolution to have a liquor ban during the weekend. According to the Nunavut liquor act, they are allowed to have 3 periods throughout the year in which there is a liquor ban in effect. These periods can be up to 14 days long. Currently, Chesterfield has 2 events a year where they have a liquor ban. Christmas and this past weekend are the two. If council wishes to have a fourth event they must apply to a higher government.
We didn’t get a chance to stop by and check things out on Thursday, but we did go last night (friday) for a bit. We have both gotten the H1N1 and Seasonal flu vaccines and were really tired. We didn’t go until around 10:30.

Did they give you both those vaccines at the same time?

Yes, one in each arm.
