What we’ve patiently been waiting for…

A real live Polar Bear!!

Now we’ve had one dead sitting in our freezer for a while now, but not exactly what I call exciting. We’ve been patiently waiting to hear word that the bears have made their way closer to town. Last we heard they were still way out the inlet. Well, this morning we received a phone call from a lady in town saying that there have been a few bears spotted a little ways from town. We got ourselves ready and headed out. They were quite a ways out on the ice, but with binoculars we were still able to see them. I know there is going to be more opportunity to see them closer, but it was still exciting to see them in their natural habitat. There were 3 bears in total. Rumor is that it was a mama bear and her cubs.

Can you see the black dot in the middle of the picture? That's the bear!! lol
