What the Blizzard left behind…..

So today the blizzard finally let up. It was the first time in 3 days that we were able to see more than 3 feet in front of us. There are still blizzard warnings, but the weather here is pretty good. It’s still -42ºc with the windchill, but definitely tolerable. I was finally able to take the dog out to burn off a little energy. (more…)

We were both sad that we weren’t able to spend the holidays with our family and friends.  I do have to admit that I loved the slow paced, relaxed Christmas we celebrated here. It was really interesting and quite entertaining. (more…)

This year we decided to bake some goodies and box them to give them out to some of the people that we’ve met in the community. We thought it was an inexpensive and personal gift to give people that we have just started to get to know. (more…)

Our Xmas tree…

When we were organizing our stuff in preparation to move up north, we decided that we would bring a few Christmas decorations to put around the house. We decided not to bring any tree ornaments. (more…)

Supper made with love….

So as I mentioned in the last post, yes, today is my birthday. We don’t need to discuss how old I am, just that another year has gone by. It was a really good day. It was nice to spend the day in the community instead of stuck inside. It finally warmed up today so it wasn’t so uninviting to go outside (more…)
