So today the blizzard finally let up. It was the first time in 3 days that we were able to see more than 3 feet in front of us. There are still blizzard warnings, but the weather here is pretty good. As I mentioned in the previous post, we are helping out with the neighbors dog while they are on holidays .
We were both sad that we weren’t able to spend the holidays with our family and friends. I do have to admit that I loved the slow paced, relaxed Christmas we celebrated here. No busy shopping malls, no Christmas music playing since October, no running from here to there to see everyone that is important to us. Read more…

On Wednesday we went over to the school to watch their Christmas concert. I have to admit it was very different than anything I’ve ever seen in a Christmas concert. I’ve never really been a “Christmas Baker”. I do usually make drop shortbread cookies every year, but that was always for my enjoyment, not others! This year we decided to bake some goodies and box them to give them out to some of the people that we’ve met in the community. Oh! And by the way, this is Cisco, our dog. Even though she likes to puke a lot, she's still part of the family and will partake in our adventure to the North.
