Our Xmas tree…

When we were organizing our stuff in preparation to move up north, we decided that we would bring a few Christmas decorations to put around the house. We decided not to bring any tree ornaments.

The past couple of years we’ve had real trees and didn’t really have a “fake” one bring with us. At that time, I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal to me not to have a tree. I have to admit that as the holiday season was fastly approaching, I realized how much I really wished we had a tree. Etienne didn’t really want one. In the end, we decided to buy a small predecorated and prelit tree from Costco. Since shipping is free and in the past the product has arrived quickly, it seemed the perfect choice. The tree shipped on Dec 7 and arrived today. Pretty impressive! It is a small tree, but we will be able to use it no matter where we live. It will be a great second tree around the house.  It actually looks pretty good.

The first picture was taken with the flash. The second one we brought out the tripod to show off the crazy colors the lights put out

    Great tree! And I love the ‘eco-friendly’ wrapping on the gifts.

    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    Thy leaves are so unchanging;
    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    Thy leaves are so unchanging;
    Not only green when summer’s here,
    But also when ’tis cold and drear.
    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    Thy leaves are so unchanging!

    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    Much pleasure thou can’st give me;
    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    Much pleasure thou can’st give me;
    How often has the Christmas tree
    Afforded me the greatest glee!
    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    Much pleasure thou can’st give me.

    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    Thy candles shine so brightly!
    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    Thy candles shine so brightly!
    From base to summit, gay and bright,
    There’s only splendor for the sight.
    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    Thy candles shine so brightly!

    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    How richly God has decked thee!
    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    How richly God has decked thee!
    Thou bidst us true and faithful be,
    And trust in God unchangingly.
    O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
    How richly God has decked thee! !”
