Santa comes to Chester!!
On Wednesday we went over to the school to watch their Christmas concert. I have to admit it was very different than anything I’ve ever seen in a Christmas concert. The first “act” was all about baby Jesus. They changed the story to make it based in Chesterfield! It was really interesting and quite entertaining.
From there all the grades got up and did their own little “act”. The daycare kids were supposed to dance. However, once the curtain went up, all but one froze in the spot. One of the little girls stole the stage. It was way too cute. She danced around while the rest of the kids just stood there and stared out into the crowd.
One of the most interesting skits was all about the ugliest monster that landed in Chester. It was so ugly that people dropped dead as soon as they saw it. All until the principal of the school took one look at it and the monster dropped dead. Then the principal took out a mirror and dropped dead as soon as he saw himself. Not sure the relation to Christmas, but it was hilarious!
In between each “act” there were draws. Every time someone donated food to the food bank, the school put their name in the box. One lady ended up winning 4 times! It was crazy.
Once the concert was over Santa arrived to give presents out the the children. Everyone went crazy when he arrived. All the children lined up and took a turn on Santa’s lap.
It was a really enjoyable evening.
Here are a few pictures we took from the evening.

I love that ‘Mary’ is wearing in amauti! It seems fitting. And that little girl in the last pic is so gorgeous!

Isn’t it amazing how different cultures can share an event and make it their own? Love the pictures.
