Addicted!!

I wish I had something interesting and fun to write about……but we haven’t really done anything “outdoors” this past week. If you really want to know what we’ve been doing,

we’ve been spending (almost) all of our time playing Mario Brother’s Wii!! Etienne jokes that this game is my “crack”  I always loved Super Mario Brothers growing up and was totally thrilled to see that they were bringing it back. I’m wondering if Etienne is beginning to regret giving me this for Christmas! As soon as he gets home from work i’m asking him to play…..last night we played until almost midnight!! The best part is that Etienne and I can play together. That’s right, no-one has to sit around waiting for the other one to die. I have learned a couple things about Etienne playing this game. He is extremely competitive. He yells at me each time I (accidentely) kill him, jump on his head or don’t wait for him! It can get very interesting in our house when we’re playing. I am happy to hear that we’re not the only people that yell at each other while playing this game. I have heard from others that there is quite a bit yelling…..We have finished the game twice since Christmas. Now we’re working on completing the “bonus” world. I don’t know what i’m going to do when we finish that! Let’s hope they come out with a Mario Brothers II.

This past weekend we did go over to some friends and played Rummoli. It was a great night. My stomach and cheeks hurt by the end of the night from laughing so much. It was really nice to get out of the house and just relax with great people. So thanks you guys for having us over!! We’ll have to do it again.

There isn’t much else going on. I’m still planning my trip to Alberta. It is crazy how fast your schedule books up. There are very few days that I don’t have anything planned. I know that when we’re back in Chester, I’m going be happy to be home and back to this relaxed lifestyle.  I am really excited to see all my family and friends. It will be a great trip. I will be counting down the days until Etienne joins me. We’re still waiting for the official approval for his time off. Oh the joys of being at their mercy.

I’m still hoping to go out on the snow machine once more before I leave. We will see how the weather cooperates. I’m happy that the snow stays as long as it does here. I’ll still have the opportunity to go in April/May.

I can sympathize with you on your addiction. The worst part is when you dream about the games in your sleep and are constantly thinking of how you can defeat something that has been eluding you. LOL I too am an addict and have been since about 2001. It got to the point where I wondered if I could order groceries on-line in Leduc so I didn’t have to leave the house. Of course that theory was shot down pretty quick by “you-know-who”. I think he was just jealous that I didn’t have a job at the time and he had to work. LOL

I am going to get one of those rubber thumbs that secretaries wear to flip pages. Hopefully that will protect my thumb. I will play for 2hrs and then the rest of the day I am pushing on my thumb like a bad bruise trying to get it to mold back to its original form. I wonder if I can get social assistance for nintendo thumb. I agree that the game should only be played among people who can recover from verbal abuse. Its not nice. Although, do you still suffer from the compulsion to hit every freakin’ brick in case there is a single coin in it, and jump around getting every bloody coin? If so, I can see Etienne wanting to leave you in the dust. When I think back, I can remember you on the coin ship in Mario Bros 3 and waiting for you to die so it could be my turn….finally! Have a good day coin junkie!

ps did you go to the level where the little guy in the cloud throws spiky things and you can get a ton of men? Then you won’t have to do any continues. I can’t wait for you to get here and show me some secrets.
