Riding and Sliding

I went out with a few friends today for a short ride on the land. Etienne decided to stay at home. Since we don’t have our own machine, I went in our friends Komatik.

In total there were 5 of us that went. We didn’t go out very far, but it was still a lot of fun. I have never been in a Komatik before.  It was way more rough than being on the back of a machine, but it was nice to relax and be able to chat with everyone else. We made a few stops along the way. On our way back we found a large piece of ice and decided to take turns sliding down. Who knew that a chunk of ice would be so much fun for children and adults alike!

The weather was awesome today. I think it got up to -16º. There was hardly a wind as well. Makes going out on the land that much more enjoyable.

Great pictures from today Carly! Your camera really picked up the blue from the ice… and the goofiness of those sliding on it!

I was going to say the same thing, how blue the ice is. What an amazing experience it must be living there. I think I’d totally move there if there was work for us!
