Ahhhh…..Home Sweet Home!
We’ve been home for almost a week now and it’s like we have never left. No matter where you call home, it’s amazing how good it feels to be home after a trip.
I’ve finally unpacked, organized, finished laundry and cleaned the house. I’ve made a couple loaves of bread and a batch of baguettes. Just a few more things to make and we should be fully stocked again. Cisco has even been reunited with her playmate. They’ve had a couple of play dates since we’ve been back. It’s nice to have another dog in the community that Cisco gets along with so well.
As much as I loved seeing all my friends and family, I have to admit that it’s a lot of work to do so much traveling and I am glad that we will only be doing this twice a year while we’re living up north.
In total for my 9 weeks in the south I drove a total of almost 4000km’s and flew almost 12,000km’s. It was a crazy busy but wonderful trip.
I still can’t believe how much snow we came back to. The snow banks on the side of the road coming back from the airport were higher than the truck. I was wondering if after having the luxury of no more snow down south I would have a hard time coming back to so much snow, but honestly it’s so beautiful up here there’s no way I can not enjoy the snow. The weather has been really nice since we’ve been back so it’s been quite enjoyable to take the dog out to play in the snow. Today it’s only -6ºc out. Here are a few pictures of the beautiful day we had and Cisco enjoying her time playing fetch with a frisbee.
There have been significant sunrise/sunset time changes since I left. Back in February when I left the sun was rising at around 8am and setting at around 4pm. Today the sun rose at 5:21am and will set at 8:43pm. So there’s quite a significant increase in daylight hours. It is nice to be able to go outside and do things in the evenings again. I’m hoping to be able to take our honda out this week.

Beautiful photos. Cisco seems to be enjoying the wide open spaces — so much better than a tiny backyard or a germ infested dog run. Our pool is open and the water is clear. Not exactly the same season as you. The trees actually have leaves now (earliest ever) and the tulips are in full bloom. The grass is almost ready to be cut (again — the earliest ever).

Wow, as you know we have no snow and it is 23 today and going to 26 tomorrow but they are calling for rain on Thursday. Good thing as we went to the lake on the weekend and the lake is so low that I think most will have a problem putting any boats in. So it better RAIN RAIN RAIN. Sounds like you have settled in I agree there is NO PLACE LIKE HOME. Love ya. Actually miss Cisco already and the dog next door is barking again, Dave just loves it.
