The home stretch…..
So here I am sitting in a hotel room in Winnipeg, only 1 more sleep away from being back home! It was been a very long but fantastic 9 weeks. I have loved all the time I was able to spend with family and friends. We were able to do a lot of interesting things while we were down. I am sad to say good-bye to them, but I am also very happy to be going home. There’s nothing like being back in your own home, cooking in your own kitchen and most importantly, sleeping in your own bed!
Our last week wasn’t as busy as the rest of the holiday which was really nice. My granddad races horses (he’s passed away now, but his wife continues to race) and his horse and driver were racing, so a few of our family members went down to the track to see.
My mom hosted Easter dinner this past weekend. It was really nice to see a lot of my extended family. There have been a couple of new babies since we moved up north, so it was nice to meet them.
We also were able to visit with some friends from our old stomping grounds. It was really good to see them. Of course, it’s never enough time, but we’re hoping to visit more when we’re down next time.
Of course it wouldn’t be a last day without the dog doing something worth telling!! Apparently Cisco chased one of my mom’s neighbors cat up a tree yesterday. My mom saw it all happen and she figured that by the evening the cat would have climbed down. Last night after supper my mom noticed the cat was still up in the tree!! So Etienne and my mom’s boyfriend pulled out a ladder and tried to get the cat down. Of course it just ran up higher in the tree. What a dog!! I still don’t know if the cat has come down from the tree or not.

Never a dull moment. Cisco probably just wanted to play.

Yes I have good news that the cat has left the tree. It was gone the next day. I guess my neighbor was right when she said she had never heard of anyone finding a cat skeleton in a tree. But it sure had me thinking after staying up there more than 7 hours. Oh well, all is well.

Carly I am so glad you had a great time on your vacation. I am now looking out of the window to a snow blizzard go figure. I am working at Kims store to help her out and she did a great job of setting it up so we are hoping she will do well with this one. You take care of yourself and hope to see you again next time you come down. Anty Judy
