BINGO!
Or not……Since we didn’t do our usual “Movie Night” on Friday night, we decided to play Bingo. We’ve been here 9 months and have never played. The community has Bingo nights twice a week. A few of us decided that Friday was a good night to play. Just after 7pm we headed to the Hamlet to pick up our Bingo cards and then headed over to a friends house to play. What happens is they call the numbers over the local radio station. When you have a Bingo you call in. There was about 8 games in total. Some of the games were straight lines, “Y”, 2 lines, blackout, etc. There were a couple of times that we were too busy talking that we missed what we were playing for. We had to call someone else in the community to find out! Even though no one won, we all had a good time.

Fun! But bingo can be really stressful, they call those numbers pretty quick!

Even Bingo is different up there! Can you imagine doing that over the radio in Montreal! Carly, you look really tan…

I’m with Pat how the heck did you get a sunburn/tan???? Etienne looks like he is ready to stab his card, gets a little excited does he ! ! ! !

How did I get a tan???? Don’t forget we have more sun up here than you do down there!!!! Plus with the snow, the sun is more intense, therefore tanning/burning you more quickly!!

Bingo can be fun when things are low key. I remember going to a bingo hall one time and some of the people were so intense it made it less fun. The serious gamers that don’t talk and just stick a cigarette in their mouths and puff without removing it b/c their hands were too busy.
How much money could you have won?

We should just blame it on the cards… they were obviously duds! It certainly couldn’t have had anything to do with our superior dabbing skills!

Tell Etienne that he only has to dab the numbers, not stab them.

First of all, do you need me to send you guys some sun screen?
Second, other than Bingo, what kinds of things do they have on the radio? Who does the radio programming and announcing.

We have sunscreen…and my tan is through a 30!! They don’t really have much else on the radio. A guy from town is the “announcer” and they just re-broadcast stations from sirius satellite radio. They use the radio station for announcements, local information, people calling in to ask other people to call them (not everyone has a phone), etc…..
