Part 1: Ice Fishing in June

We have so many pictures from yesterday that I decided to turn it into two posts. This is the first part of our day.

Yesterday morning we went out with another couple. We started off the day with ice fishing out at third lake. I can’t believe that it’s the end of June and we are still ice fishing. The ice is very thing/nonexistent at the shore, but it’s still quite thick closer to the center of the lake.  It is too thin to drive our honda out on the ice, so we all grabbed our stuff and headed out onto the ice. Even though we didn’t catch anything, we still enjoyed a lot of great conversation and definitely a lot of laughs. The weather was amazing. Not a cloud in the sky and the sun was really warm.  We were all prepared for our time on the ice. We had lots of food, drinks and even some reading material, that Etienne calls “smut”…lol. Gossip magazines….

Showing how thin the ice is at the shore

One of the fishing holes....The ice was too thin, we didn't fish here

Melting.....

The hole we did fish in...you can see the rocks at the bottom

Chilling, enjoying the wonderful weather

Trying so hard to catch something

Ha ha....our reading material.....

…..to be continued…….

You tell your other half that gossip mags are important. I NEED to know what the Kardashians are doing otherwise my day is not complete. Don’t even get me started on the latest Bachelor nonsense… ugh.

PS… Carly you’re very brave standing on that ice… it still freaks me out to do that!

Even though the piece broke off, that ice was almost a foot thick so it wasn’t too bad.

Well your OTHER mom is giving you the same comment. GET OFF THE ICE IT IS TOO THIN! !
Now Dave’s comment. Looks thick enough to me. I guess I will have to read the second blog to see if you caught anything.
