Part 2: The perfect way to end a perfect day!

At about 3pm we decided to pack in the fishing. We loaded everything up, and came home to pick up Cisco to bring her with us for the rest of the day.  Friends are in the process of building a cabin not far from town, so we went to see the site they had found. We ended up spending the next 6 hours out there relaxing, chatting, eating and exploring,  It was a fantastic day overall. The site they found was beautiful. It is down a small hill, which makes you feel very secluded. You don’t see anyone else cabin from their place, and it is only feet from the water.  The sounds we were able to hear out there were impressive. Lots of birds. We also heard the loud booms of the ice breaking off. That was one of the coolest sounds I have ever heard. It happened quite frequently.

These are some of the views they have from their site.

The dog checking out the sites....or checking out the birds.....

Loving it!!

View from where I was sitting

Our day wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t find another birds nest. This time it was a different type. The eggs were much smaller. The birds we also being very protective of their nest. They were flying around like crazy, and wouldn’t go very far from their nest. Cisco had a wonderful time trying to chase the small birds. We really need to fix that obsession!! lol.

The nest

Momma bird....I believe

You can see momma bird sitting on her eggs.....

We decided to take a walk to check things out and we came across quite a few things. There were these beautiful flowers growing all over…..

Cisco even found a treat! I think this was the biggest bone she’s ever found. She spent a lot of time enjoying this once we got back to the campsite.

Yes, that is an entire caribou leg!

It is so beautiful up here…….I love this shot!

Did you actually allow Cisco to chew on the bone ! ! In the one picture it looks like she is about to fall into the ICE COLD WATER. Doesn’t look to please but she just must be running fast.

Yes, we let her chew it for a little while. She was running and jumping over the water. However, she doesn’t mind the cold…..she would spend all day in it if we allowed her to!!

Thanks for sharing all the beautiful photos once again. When I get home tonight, I will have to check out some photos we have of flowers on top of the mountain above Jasper. They look very similar and they grow in practically nothing and only have about two months of growing and blooming time.
I too love the last photo, you will have to frame that one.

So where do they get the building materiels to build the cabin? Does everything have to be ordered on barge order?

  7. June 29th, 2010 at 16:42

    Etienne says:

They get their materials from anywhere and everywhere. It’s so expensive to order so they’ll reuse stuff.
