Fun with the Icebergs
Today we took advantage of the nice weather and low tide. Most of the ice has left the bay leaving behind only a few huge pieces. We took the dog and camera out with us to try and take a few pictures.
Today we discovered that our dog loves climbing. Every ice chunk she saw she wanted to jump on it. A few she was even able to climb up and down. She also spent quite a bit of time swimming and chasing birds. I’m so excited now that I can take her out behind the house and let her run and swim. I’m also looking forward to taking a chair and book out with me and just relax in the afternoon. We took over 300 pictures today….and we were able to narrow it down to just over 20. I tried to narrow it down even more, but just couldn’t do it. So you’re going to get to see the top 21 pictures of today! I also compressed a bunch of photos and converted it into a (very short) movie. It’s of Cisco climbing up and down the icebergs. It’s the last image on this post. I hope you enjoy
The below picture we took at high tide late this afternoon. As you can see the water is as high as the icebergs. Some of them have appeared to float away. It’ll be interesting to see if they’re around tomorrow our not.

The water droplet picture was pretty sweet. Oh and that’s a lot of ice. Ha ha ha.
Great pictures. What kind of camera do you guys have? I love the droplet picture. You should submit it in a photo contest. Check all the different websites for digital cameras. One of them is bound to have a photo contest going on. Maybe you can win some cool stuff.
ps. You can never post too many pictures. Post away.
Oh, I too love the droplet picture. They are all wonderful however. Cisco is having a blast on the iceburgs. Thanks for sharing.
I love the droplet picture too. Try the National Geographic photo contest. All the photos are great. I’ve heard of Kodak kids but Cisco is the Kodak dog.
Wow! Your dog loves the cold!
p.s. Like everyone above, I too really love the droplet picture! So nice when you can get a good picture like that!
Okay I am the same as the rest the droplet is unbelievable. Cisco is on stuff lady, that water had to be freezing.
I don’t know what you are using for a camera. All shots are great, especially the one of the droplet. Makes me wonder if you are using equipment that belongs to the Ident Section. Or, did you have a professional photographer fly in for the shoots? One day, you will have to tell us.
Etienne really enjoys photography and spends a lot of time learning about it. He also says that he has FIS grade equipment to have fun with!! lol.
ok same love the water droplet. How can Cisco swim in the cold water??
I don’t know how she swims in it, but she loves it….We can’t keep her out of it when we’re outside!! Last year she was swimming in it right up until it froze over!
Great shots. The water drop is a huge winner. Too bad there isn’t a photo contest for you to enter it in.
Carly I dont know how you are going to leave there. The solitude would be unlike anywere you would ever live. Not like to noisy, busy city life
Great pictures Carly!! You guys could/should publish a book when your up north adventure is over!!
Amazing pictures!!! Cisco must have loved it!
