Chester makes the news again….

Etienne has added a new “page” to our Blog. You can see a tab at the top of the page (next to the “Home” tab) that says “Photo Gallery”. Here he will put up pictures that we like but didn’t quite make it into a post. Check back often as he will add pictures to it frequently.

The Thule People History
Today we took a Honda ride to an area just outside of town. It has a big Thule site. It was really neat to take a look around and see how the Thule people lived a thousand years ago. Below are a few excerpts from websites that I found with information regarding the Thule people. It is all so interesting.
A first ever for me!!
While we were doing our Kayaking adventures, the teacher that was leading the activity asked me if I could send a few pictures we had taken during our time to the Kivalliq News.

…The amazing sunsets. We have seen some pretty impressive skies up here. The other night we drove out a few km’s from town to watch the sunset. It wasn’t the most impressive we’ve seen, but it was still pretty cool to watch.

I know I don’t write very often on the blog but I figured that I would write a little something today.
Fishing, Lunching, Hiking and Killing
As I mentioned in my last post, Etienne’s parents were up visiting. On their last full day, we packed a lunch and headed out to Third Lake for a few hours.

Etienne’s parents decided to make the long, dreadful flight up here. They were here for the first week of September.

Us
The above photo is me and her. You probably had it all figured out anyways. We are about to live a once in a lifetime experience, The Great White Canadian Arctic. We have decided to create this blog to keep our friends, families and curious strangers abreast of our adventures. I'm sure a few misadventures as well. All while living in Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut. Read on to see what it's all about!

Oh! And by the way, this is Cisco, our dog. Even though she likes to puke a lot, she's still part of the family and will partake in our adventure to the North. She'll be sure to keep us on our toes and keep the polar bears at bay! She's also good for a few laughs in between leg humping sessions. We still haven't figured out how to stop that...
