Yesterday we went out on the hondas. We decided to see if we could get Cisco to run along side us. As we were starting the hondas and getting ready to go, Cisco ran to the door and wanted to go inside. Once we started to drive away I saw her look at all of us and then decided to run after us. I was pleasantly surprised to see that she was more than happy to run. We drove around going as far as the roads would allow us. Because of the blizzard last week there were quite significant snow drifts, some we were able to cross, some not so much. For most of the trip, I was in the back and Cisco would “herd” us. She’d run to the front to see Etienne, then she’d stop and wait for me to catch up, and then run back to Etienne. At one point I was in the lead and she must not have noticed because we saw that she wasn’t around us anymore. Etienne turned around and found her running back from where we were, probably looking for me. From there I stayed in the back and she followed. We were maintaining speeds of about 20-30km’s/hr. It seemed like an easy pace for Cisco. When I pulled up beside her and cheered her on, we reached speeds of 40km/hr. I was impressed at how fast she can actually run. I think Cisco is still tired today. She’s hasn’t done much but sleep since we’ve been back.

Tiring her out ended up being a good idea. Since it is Etienne’s birthday soon, I decided to have a supper for him last night. Some friends came over and we enjoyed a great night with all of them. Etienne even got some amazing gifts! Thanks guys for making me look bad since I haven’t gotten anything for him! I just don’t know what to get a guy that has it all?!?! Below is a picture of one of his awesome gifts. Apparently this took 6 hours (or maybe 3 or 2….we don’t really know), and you can see that it must have taken that long from all the amazing craftsmanship that went into making it! (As you can see we had to “block” out some of it as it is inappropriate for me to post on here….Sorry)

Here are a few pictures that I didn’t get a chance to include in the posts they were meant for….

Below is a picture taken at the “end of the road”. Literally. We are standing behind a pile of gravel that is sitting at the end of the road. This is the road that will lead to the mine and then off to Rankin Inlet. They still have a ways to go.

The below pictures were taken during our fish bake night. We had to take pictures of us eating fish. We didn’t think our family or friends would believe that we actually ate it. For those of you who don’t know, neither of us like fish/seafood. We did make a promise to ourselves that when we moved up here we would have open minds and if the opportunity presented itself we would honestly give fish a try. So this is us eating Arctic Char and Trout.
